While there was great excitement for our 1st team last night winning the semi-final there was also a hint of sadness.
A stalwart of our team over the past three years Aine Deasy is heading off on her travels and she will be missed by everyone. Aine came to us having a wealth of experience from her days in Fingallians, Dublin teams, and teams in Asia. She is a true leader on and off the pitch and has been such an inspiration to us all here, especially the younger players. If you were asked the question of who would you like to go to war with it, it would most certainly be Aine as she would make you feel safe and you know she would not leave you behind in the trenches. She displayed this on the pitch when lifting the players around her and dragging them with her, especially in her well-marshaled defence. This year we have an outstanding defensive record and this was mainly down to Aine’s leadership.
Safe travels Aine and we will hopefully see you back in the green and gold jersey again.
