On a beautiful sunny day in St. Margarets we were treated to a fantastic encounter between the U12 boys of St. Margarets and Kilmacud Crokes.
Both teams played great football with neither team willing to give an inch to the opposition. The Margarets lads rose to the occasion of their Club Day and with their strong support from the sidelines you felt they were never going to lose this match.
It was end to end with both teams taking the lead on several occasions but with Dan Mc Carthy (1-04) and Feidhlim Clarke (1-03) in such good form in front of the posts, it was gonna take something special from Crokes to beat this team.
Unfortunately for the South Dublin team, St. Margarets full back and the referee's Man of the Match Darragh Foley, wasn't in a generous mood.
The Margarets man hoovered up anything that came near him, even a few Crokes lads who probably had nightmares after such a tough afternoon. It was an excellent performance by the Margarets lads, from 1 to 24 everyone put in a great shift. Margarets winning in the end 2-14 to 2-09.
Congratulations lads, see you all at training on Tuesday!
